Stanley Krippner was born in Edgerton, Wisconsin, on October 4, 1932. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he received his B.S. in 1954. He then attended Northwestern University and received his M.A. in 1958 and his Ph.D. in 1961. He was a speech therapist for the city of Warren, Illinois from 1954-1955 and for the public schools of Richmond Virginia from 1955-1956.
